Technical Manager Job Purpose
To manage the Technical functions of Solo Cup Europe. To manage the technical relationship with Raw material suppliers & to oversee the technical aspect of production process control. To manage the production/ QA legal aspects of the business to ensure Solo Cup Europe complies with all relevant legislation. Responsible for QA function.
Main Responsibilities
• To be responsible for the technical materials function.
• To be responsible for the liaison between factory & approved raw material suppliers.
• To develop a technical library & deep knowledge of all materials used by Solo Cup Europe.
• Responsible for the leadership & implementation & management of a Systems/ Procedure Project.
• Leadership/ development of all Technical Projects
• To develop communication channels to update Executive Team, Production, NPD, Sales and General Marketing functions as to material/ technical, legal developments/ requirements. To develop communication channels with all relevant internal departments in order that all material & technical updates are communicated throughout the organisation.
• Responsible for QA function
• Ensure that key systems are embedded in the organisation for long term sustainability.
• To attend internal meetings, typically, production, QA, tooling & design..
• To liaise with Technical & related departments at parent company, Solo Cup
Skills Required
1. Degree educated with excellent Industry Experience.
2. Relevant or related industry experience
3. Chemical background
4. QA systems implementation experience. Experience of ISO 9000 series standards.
5. Technical/ Materials knowledge
6. Factory process knowledge
7. An ability to work on own initiative and within team culture as leader of Multi-disciplined team
8. Good communication/interpersonal skills – visual, verbal and written.
9. Good customer facing skills
10. Good IT skills, including MS Office, spreadsheets and databases.
11. Project management skills and ability to multi task.
12. Capable of working to deadlines.
13. Willingness to travel.
This is a monthly paid position with the hours of work being 09.00 hours – 17.00 hours,
Monday – Friday with 1 hour for lunch.
The position reports to the VP of innovation Environment & Packaging.
Machine Operator (Technician) - Thermoforming Division
We are looking for a Machine Operator with technical skills to work in our Thermoforming Division. Working in a team that manufactures lids and pots, you will need to have a mechanical aptitude and experience in performing full tool and cavity changes.
Experience in handling and processing PET and Polystyrene and using extruders (such as Davis-Standard and Welex) is preferred. Experience of Illig and Brown formers would also be an advantage. You must also be confident in managing team members as required. Successful applicants are expected to have appropriate experience and proven written and numerical skills.
This position is weekly paid and operates on an 8hr rotating shift pattern Monday to Friday (8am to 4pm; 4pm to midnight; midnight to 8am).
Van Dam Machine Operator - Print Division

We are seeking an experienced Van Dam Machine Operator for our 8 colour round cup printer. The responsibilities for this role will include all aspects of production, quality, and adherence to all company systems and procedures.
Main Duties:
• Tool changes
• Plate change machinery
• Set up printing jobs from setting to running
• Ability to work within the current health and safety guidelines
Desired Skills:
• Experience with Van Dam machinery
• Existing knowledge of printing processes and ink
• Flexible approach to working hours
On site training will be provided for the successful applicant, commensurate with the challenges and responsibilities this position brings.
This is a weekly paid position and will be a 4on-4off shift rotation working 12 hour shifts. (Two days: 7am to 7pm; Two nights: 7pm to 7am; and 4 rest days)
