New 'Serious About Sustainability' Web Site
June 2010
Solo Cup Europe has launched a new web site to help customers and end users understand its commitment to sustainability: www.seriousaboutsustainability.co.uk
The new web site highlights the three pillars of sustainability that form its environmental policy: ‘options, investment and education’. The web site shows the five steps to sustainability that the company follows, from sourcing of raw materials, through production, packing and transport to waste recovery and recycling.
Anne Sutton, VP for the Environment at of Solo Cup Europe says: “There is no general consensus on what is ‘environmentally friendly’ in foodservice packaging, and every choice has a trade off. We are focussed on providing options to consumers and foodservice operators so they can make the choice that best fits their needs. There is a lot of information about materials and recycling and it can be both bewildering and misleading for customers. Our new site sets out clearly where we stand and the continual steps our business takes to minimise its impact on the planet.”
