Solo Cup Europe is part of Solo Cup Company, which is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of disposable foodservice packaging products.
At Solo we have built our business around strong customer relationships, a large range of quality products and excellent customer service. Last year Solo produced over 3.5 billion units in the UK alone and achieved sales of £50 million in 2006.
Capabilities
Whether manufacturing items from paper, plastic or foam, at Solo we build upon our heritage of product excellence. Our facilities are on a 13 acre site in Huntingdon and are designed to ensure quality, efficiency and safety.
Our comprehensive and varied product range comprises both foodservice and packaging products, which includes the following:
Paper Conversion - Solo convert various forms of paper into a range of products including cups and containers.
Plastic Thermoforming - Solo manufacture a wide range of plastic products such as PET tumblers and containers and thermoformed dairy pots and lids.
Foam Extrusion and Forming - Solo manufacture a large range of EPS foam products from cups to containers and bowls.
Collaborative Product Development - Solo strive to expand our range, as we work to create new products and solutions to meet our customers needs.
Graphic Services - Solo offer a wide range of print services from stock prints and speciality designs, to custom design and printing with our in house graphic design team.
Sales and Marketing - Solo work to meet and build demand for our foodservice and packaging products. Our wealth of product knowledge and market expertise means that we are able to advise customers on a wide range of disposables and our industry as a whole.
The Environment
At Solo Cup Europe we recognise the importance of environmental issues and the effect that human activities can have on the world. Solo Cup Europe is committed to the continual improvement of both external and internal environmental performance by means of an effective environmental management System (EMS). Solo Cup Europe is one of the first food packaging companies to implement an EMS system based on the International Standard ISO14001.
We manufacture our food packaging products with due consideration to the environment. Initiatives to ensure the highest standards of hygiene have been implemented and we undertake a series of environmentally-friendly activities to reduce our carbon footprint.
Our Company our People
The success of our organisation can be attributed to the tireless effort of our hard working staff. The average time in service of our staff is 14 years. We have approximately 400 employees working at our Huntingdon site, spread between our factories, warehouses and offices.
